Meaning of Easter
Name Easter came from the Hebrew word "pesach" ("pass"), which the Hebrews meant the end from slavery and the beginning of the liberation of the Jewish people (marked by the Red Sea crossing,
which was open to "break
through "the
children of Israel that Moses would lead to the Promised Land).
Even today the Jewish family gathers for the "Seder," a special dinner that is done in family and lasts eight days. Besides the dinner there are readings in the synagogues.
For Christians, Easter is the passage of Jesus Christ from death to life: the Resurrection. Passage of God among us and our journey to God. It is considered the party of parties, the solemnity of solemnities, and not celebrates worthily only the joy.
In old times, in the northern hemisphere, the celebration of Easter was marked with the late winter and early spring. Time that animals and plants appear again.
