World Water Day

The World Water Day was established by the United Nations (UN) on March 22, 1992.The March 22 of each year, is intended for discussion of various topics related to this important natural asset.

But because the UN was concerned with the water if we know that two thirds of the planet Earth is made up of this precious liquid? The reason is that a small amount, about 0.008% of total water on our planet is potable (fit for consumption). And as we know, most sources of water (rivers, lakes and reservoirs) is being contaminatedpolluted and degraded by predatory man. This situation is worrisome because it may lack in the near future, water for much of the world population. Thinking about it, was instituted the World Day of Water, whose main objective is to create a moment of reflection, analysis, awareness and development of practical measures to solve this problem.

On March 22, 1992, the UN also issued an important document: the "Universal Declaration of Water Rights". This paper presents a series of measuressuggestions and information that serves to raise environmental awareness of the population and governor on the issue of water.

But as we celebrate this important date? Not only today but also in the other 364 days a year, we need to take action in our day-to-day work together to preserve this natural asset and economy. Suggestions abound: do not throw garbage in rivers and lakes;save water in daily activities (bathing, brushing teeth, dishwashing, etc.), reuse thewater in various situations, respect the watershed regions and disseminate ecological ideas for friends, relatives and others.
